Article I.
The name of the organization shall be the Garner Magnet High School Dance Boosters, Inc.
Article II.
Objectives of the Garner Magnet High School Dance Boosters, Inc.
Section I. To develop and maintain an enthusiastic interest in the various phases of the Dance/Fine Arts Department of Garner Magnet High School.
Section II. To lend all possible moral, financial, physical, and technical support to the general programs of the Department and the school.
Section III. To promote the highest degree of parental input and involvement.
Section IV. To cooperate with the Director of the Dance/Fine Arts Department, the administration of Garner Magnet High School, and the School Board to the end that this department be brought up and kept to the highest possible level of efficiency and effectiveness.
Section V. To encourage social growth, development, and maturity for students in the Dance/Fine Arts Department by providing venues for social interaction.
Article III.
Section I. The membership of this organization shall not be limited. Anyone interested in the development and progress of the Dance Department of Garner Magnet High School is eligible for membership.
Article IV.
Officers of this organization shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Fund Raising Coordinator and the Director of the Dance Department at Garner Magnet High School.
By-Laws
Article I.
Duties of Officers.
Section I. The President shall preside at all meetings, appoint all committees, and shall be an ex-officio member of all committees. The President shall maintain contact with department and school administration.
Section II. The Vice-President shall assume all duties of the President in his/her absence. The Vice-President shall oversee the organizing, planning, and implementation of concert related activities, such as ticket sales, concessions, and advertisement.
Section III. The Secretary shall keep the records and minutes of all meetings, and shall present a copy of these minutes after each meeting to the Dance Boosters Executive Board, and Principal of Garner Magnet High School. The Secretary shall handle the booster’s correspondence.
Section IV. The Treasurer shall keep and accurate record of all receipts and disbursements, document each activity separately, and maintain a complete financial report, and shall present a copy to the Dance Boosters Executive Board. The Treasurer shall present an audited report in May of each year to the Board as well as to the Principal of Garner Magnet High School.
Section V. The Fundraising Coordinator shall be responsible for establishing and enabling all fundraisers with the approval of the Executive Board. He/She shall be responsible for completing a Fundraising Solicitation form in order to gain approval from the Principal of Garner Magnet High School, in a timely manner. The fundraiser coordinator shall be responsible for placing all orders and determining profit for each fundraiser. The fundraising coordinator shall be responsible for disbursement of all related paperwork and materials to students. The fundraiser coordinator shall maintain contact with other Fine Arts Departments at Garner Magnet High School regarding any joint fundraising projects or independent endeavors to avoid duplicate or overlapping fundraisers.
Article II.
The Executive Board.
Section I. The Executive Board shall be comprised of the Officers of the Organization. The Director of the Dance Department, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Fundraising Coordinator.
Section II. The Executive Board shall have general supervision of the affairs of the organization.
Section III. The Executive Board shall meet as needed and prior to any meeting of the organization’s general membership or on order of the President to determine the polices of the organization.
Article III.
Meetings.
Section I. General meetings will be held as determined necessary with the dates to be announced in advance.
Section II. Special meetings may be called by the President or Director of the Dance Department.
Article IV.
Standing Committees.
Section I. Committees shall be established as needed. The Director of the Dance Department and the President shall be ex-officio members of all committees.
Article V.
Financial Reports
Section I. Financial reports shall be available at all meetings of the Executive Board and general meetings of the organization’s membership.
Section II. Copies of the Annual Audited Treasurer’s Report shall be presented to the Executive Board, the Dance Director, and the Principal of Garner Magnet High School.
Article VI.
Student Positive Balances
Section I. Student positive balances upon graduation shall roll over to the general fund in the Dance Boosters account.
Article VII.
Quorum.
Four members of the Executive Board constitute a quorum.
Article VIII.
Elections.
Section I. At the first meeting of the new school year, new officers will be appointed. A Nomination Committee shall be assembled as headed by the President in March. Suggestions from the membership at large may be made to the Nomination Committee. If a vacancy should occur, this Nominating Committee shall recommend a replacement to the Executive Board. The Board shall vote.
Section II. A plurality vote of members of the organization who are present at the meeting shall constitute an election.
Article IX.
Amendments
The constitution and By-Laws of this organization may be amended by a majority vote of the members present at any regular meeting. The amendments must have been presented at the preceding meeting of the organization by the President or a By-Laws Committee.
Article X
Dissolution of the Dance Booster Organization
If it becomes necessary for Garner Magnet High School Dance Booster Inc. to disband, the funds remaining in the Treasurer will be turned over to the High School or in the case of a new Booster Organization that would include the Dance Department. The funds will be turned over to this Organization for the continued benefit of the Dance Students at Garner Magnet High School.
